Funk It! Productions Overview
Funk It! Productions is an event company founded by a group of college students hailing from the International College of Music (ICOM) in 2006.
Funk It! Productions seeks to bring fusion into the spotlight of the local music scene and also bridge the gap between jazz and rock gigs to showcase even more local talent to Malaysians.
The Hiccups Electric Band is 4-piece funk fusion band made up of young virtuoso musicians.
The event will be to showcase The Hiccups Electric Band and introduce this band and their compositions to the local music scene. The musical theme for the night will be of the fusion genre. Special guest band Estranged will also be joining in the fun for the evening. Estranged is an accomplished funk/rock band based in KL with a strong fan base.
Besides introducing The Hiccups Electric Band, this event also seeks to promote jszz/fusion music and local music in general. The event seeks to show that music shouldn’t be stereotyped according to their genres, and that good grooves also mean a good time for everyone. Many jazz gigs and rock gigs have already been done in KL, so this event seeks to add a new dimension to the local music scene.
The event will be held in
Bangkok Jazz (situated at Chulan Square) on the 15th of November, from 9:30pm till 11:30pm onwards. The estimated turnout for the venue will be 80-100pax, consisting mainly of musicians, college students, and young working adults.
The 2 hour plus event will feature The Hiccups Electric Band playing a full set (45-60min) and special guest band Estranged playing a half set (20-30min). There will also be games and other exciting activities throughout the evening. The Funk It! Production crew will be running the event.
